i say poetry not because i cant understand it, its just because there are so many different interpretations surrounding one poem. there is no right or wrong (i guess that applies to a lot of things). but its really subjective and I found really difficult to grasp when I am constantly trying to see if i am on the right track.

Probably poetry and idioms. It would depend on what sort of poetry, and idioms, simply because you haven't heard of some of them.

i am going to try to dispute the poetry claim, in terms of school assignment, maybe writing a poem sucks but poetry is actually one of the easiest thing in english. When you write a poem, you are supposed to paint a picture with word about your feeling, or thought, and it's a fact that this "picture" is abstract. Your reader is supposed to decipher what you mean, if you want to be blunt, write a journal, or a short piece. Poetry is more than simple piece of writing because you let others decipher your point, and in the process, you stimulate their imagination. Think about all the poem, you've read before, I can say for myself, I don't understand most of them, I usually need to re-read them several times to understand them. So in conclusion, poetry is easy because you need not to be logical, you just need to express your thoughts. By the way, nowadays, people use freestyle poem so we don't need to care about rhymes, much easier. *note: I can probably turn this into an essay.*

i completely agree. i always feel like its a bonus if i understand what the poet wants to convey, but in the essence of a poem, its really what YOU perceive it as, and if the poem stimulates something in you that makes you see a picture, feel an emotion etc etc.
